Courses allowed to count as LP Electives are only the ones listed on the course guide. In rare circumstances we might allow substituting a different Philosophy course (but you must get that approved by Dr. Williams beforehand!)
Note that in the Spring, Philosophy 406, Logic for the Legal Profession is being offered. It is basically a pass/fail LSAT prep course: Highly Recommended! Even though this is pass/fail, it WILL count as one of your LP Electives! That doesn't mean you might not want to take even more logical thinking classes than required... e.g. Economics, Statistics, Math, Philosophy, Physics... Train Your Brain.
There is a "Preprofessional Scholars Program" at A&T. This program is dedicated to helping people interested in Law, medicine, and pharmacy school. Check out their web page for programs relating to Law School:
If you become a lawyer, PLEASE don't put "Esquire" after your name. It doesn't mean anything. OK, so it actually does mean something, but it means that you are the servant of a Knight. Why it is that lawyers in the US think this is cool is beyond me. If you think it is cool, then please call yourself Esquire BEFORE you get your law degree, too, since having a law degree and being an "Esquire" are totally unrelated! You might as well call yourself a Colonel as well, just like "Colonel Sanders". He wasn't a Colonel, but it is a fake honorific used by some self-appointed southern gentlemen, just like the fake Esquire honorific is. The RIGHT answer is: Work hard to EARN your reputation each and every day!
